InstantTripCost (instanttripcost.com) respects your privacy and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This page details what data we collect, why, the legal basis, retention, and your rights.

Data we collect

When you use the budget calculator, no personal data is required: no account, no email, no advertising cookie. Your simulation parameters (origin, destination, dates, travelers) are processed on the fly to generate the estimate, then not retained on our servers.

Destination page comments

If you post feedback on a destination page, we store only: the nickname you provide, the message text, the destination slug, the page language, optional fields you choose to add (indicative budget, trip length), and the publication date. A timestamp records your explicit consent at the time of submission.

Legal basis (GDPR article 6)

Comment processing is based on your consent (GDPR article 6.1.a), expressed at the moment of publication. No automated processing or marketing profiling is performed using these data.

Retention period

Comments are kept as long as they remain publicly displayed on the site. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us (please include the destination and nickname used).

Recipients and hosting

Data is hosted by Supabase Inc. (technical provider, United States and European Union). No transfer to a commercial third party is performed. The site itself is hosted by Vercel Inc.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability over your data. To exercise these rights, email contact@instanttripcost.com. We respond within 30 days. If you disagree with our response, you may file a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.

Cookies

InstantTripCost only uses technical cookies necessary for the site to function (language preference). No advertising or marketing tracking cookies are set. Affiliate links to Skyscanner, Trip.com, and GetYourGuide may set their own cookies once on their respective sites, in line with their own policies.

Quick glossary

Supabase: Our technical provider for the comments database. US company, data stored in the EU region by default.
Vercel: Our web host (the site itself). Global delivery network, but the site doesn't store any personal data.
Consent (GDPR article 6.1.a): You explicitly accept the publication of your comment at the moment you submit. That permission is what makes the processing lawful.
Technical cookie: A small file that remembers your language preference. Essential for the site to work, exempt from consent banners.
Advertising cookie: A cookie used to track you across sites for marketing targeting. InstantTripCost uses none.
