Singapore travel budget: how much to plan?

There is no season, and that fact structures everything else. The 1991-2020 normals give a 26 to 27°C mean across all twelve months. No other destination in our comparator shows a one-degree range: Ireland has ten, Norway twenty-two. The calendar is therefore no use for chasing comfort.

Rain offers no window either. The driest month, February, still counts 17.6 rainy days, and the wettest, November, 28.5. The gap exists but it runs between "often" and "almost daily": it does not let you target a dry period, because there is none.

The flight therefore becomes the only date lever. From London the return runs €248 in September to €370 in March, a €122 spread per person. Since the climate is identical either way, picking September is a clean gain with no trade-off. That is rare and worth stating plainly.

On the ground, everything turns on the hotel tier. From €27 a night at entry level to €189 upmarket, the top band is seven times the first. It is among the widest spreads we track, and it alone explains why the same week can cost three times as much.

Weather separates no month from another. At 26 to 27°C across the whole year, the range is one degree. A January trip and a July trip resemble each other, which has no equivalent elsewhere in our comparator.

Rain separates them no better. February is the driest month at 17.6 rainy days, November the wettest at 28.5. In other words it rains at least every other day all year: that is not a date criterion, it is a constant to plan around.

The flight is therefore the only useful trade-off. September is the cheapest month from London at €248, followed by August at €269 and October at €294. March is the one to avoid at €370, for a rigorously identical climate.

This absence of season carries a rarely noted advantage. It makes the price predictable: you can book on the ticket alone, without weighing it against weather or seasonal crowds.

The metro serves most of what visitors come for, which explains the small transport line in our measurements. Car rental has no purpose on a territory this size.

Neighbourhood eating is the main gap between the real budget and the imagined one. The canteens that feed the city daily charge rates unrelated to the bay, and it is the trip's most effective food lever.

Constant heat shifts the spending. At 27°C with high humidity year-round, the middle hours are spent indoors, therefore in museums, malls and restaurants, all paid. The parks, which are free, only work at the cooler hours.

English is one of the official languages and is spoken everywhere. No practical barrier to plan for, which makes the city easy to cover unaided.
